## Getting Started

Welcome to WatchCurator, your personal luxury watch collection manager. This app helps you catalog your watches, track when you wear them, manage your wishlist, and gain insights into your collection habits.

### First Launch

When you first open WatchCurator, you'll see the main navigation with five tabs:
- **Wear** - Track daily watch usage with a smart calendar interface
- **Collect** - Browse and manage your watch collection
- **Wish** - Manage your watch wishlist with priorities
- **Analyze** - View detailed analytics and insights
- **Settings** - Customize your experience and manage data

### Adding Your First Watch

1. Tap the **Collect** tab
2. Tap the **+** button in the top-right corner
3. Fill in the watch details (Make and Model are required)
4. Add photos using camera or photo library
5. Tap **Save**

### Personalizing Your Experience

1. Tap the **Settings** tab
2. Enter your display name for personalized messages
3. Customize which analytics sections you want to see

### Photo Workflow

**When Adding New Watches:**
1. Fill in basic watch information (Make and Model required)
2. In the Photos section, tap **Add Photos**
3. Choose **Take Photo** to use camera or **Choose from Library** for existing images
4. For camera: Frame your watch, tap capture, edit if needed, then "Use Photo"
5. For library: Select photos and tap "Done" (no intermediate dialog)
6. Continue adding watch details and save

**When Editing Existing Watches:**
1. Open watch details and tap **Edit**
2. Scroll to Photos section
3. **For watches without photos**: Tap **Add Photos** inside the placeholder image area
4. **For watches with existing photos**: Tap **Add More Photos** below the image display
5. Use **Manage Photos** to reorder, set display image, or delete photos
6. All photo buttons now work reliably in both collection and wishlist editing modes

**Photo Organization:**
- Photos maintain their order as added
- Reorder using the photo management interface
- Delete unwanted photos individually
- All photos are preserved in backups
- Changes are immediately reflected across all views

**Camera Requirements:**
- Camera functionality requires a physical iOS device (not available in simulator)
- Camera permission will be requested on first use
- Automatic fallback to photo library if camera unavailable
- Smart detection shows appropriate options based on device capabilities

## Managing Your Collection

### Adding a Watch

**Basic Information:**
- **Make** (Required): The watch manufacturer (e.g., "Rolex", "Omega")
- **Model** (Required): The specific model name (e.g., "Submariner", "Speedmaster")
- **Nickname**: A personal name for the watch (e.g., "Daily Driver", "Weekend Special")
- **Reference Number**: The manufacturer's reference (e.g., "126610LN")
- **Serial Number**: The unique serial number (collection items only)
- **Case Diameter**: Size specification (e.g., "40mm")
- **Movement Type**: Mechanical details (e.g., "Automatic", "Manual")

**Acquisition Details:**
Choose between **Purchase** or **Gift**:

*For Purchases:*
- Purchase date
- Purchase price
- Where purchased (store/dealer name)

*For Gifts:*
- Date received
- Gift giver's name
- Special notes about the gift

**Additional Information:**
- **Product URL**: Link to manufacturer or retailer page
- **Description**: Personal notes, specifications, or memories
- **Photos**: Add multiple high-quality images with camera or photo library (up to 10 per watch for Pro users, 1 for free users)

### Adding Photos to Your Watches

WatchCurator offers flexible photo management with both camera capture and photo library selection, with enhanced reliability across all editing modes.

**Photo Sources:**
- **Take Photo**: Use your device camera to capture new images directly
- **Choose from Library**: Select existing photos from your device
- **Mixed Sources**: Combine camera photos and library images for the same watch

**Adding Photos:**
1. When adding or editing a watch, scroll to the **Photos** section
2. **For watches without photos**: Tap **Add Photos** inside the placeholder image area
3. **For watches with existing photos**: Tap **Add More Photos** below the image display
4. Choose your photo source:
   - **Take Photo**: Opens camera with editing capabilities
   - **Choose from Library**: Opens photo picker for selection
5. For camera photos: Frame your shot, capture, crop/edit if desired, then tap "Use Photo"
6. For library photos: Select up to your limit and tap "Done"
7. Photos are automatically optimized and saved with immediate visual updates

### Editing Watch Details

1. Navigate to **Collect** tab
2. Tap anywhere on any watch card (entire card is clickable)
3. Tap **Edit** in the top-right corner
4. Modify any information
5. Tap **Save** to confirm changes

### Deleting a Watch

1. Open the watch details page
2. Tap **Edit**
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap **Delete Watch**
4. Confirm the deletion

*Note: Deleting a watch removes it from your collection but preserves wear history for analytics.*

## Service Record Management

### Overview

WatchCurator includes comprehensive service tracking to help you maintain your watches properly and track their service history. This feature is available for collection watches only (not wishlist items).

### Adding Service Records

1. Navigate to **Collect** tab
2. Tap on any watch card to open details
3. Tap **Edit** in the top-right corner
4. Scroll to the **Service History** section
5. Tap **Add Service Record** or **Add First Service Record**

### Service Record Information

**Date and Timing Information:**
- **Service Date**: When the service was performed
- **Next Service Due Date**: Recommended timing for next service (typically 3-5 years for mechanical watches)

**Service Provider Details:**
- **Service Center Name**: Whether authorized service center, manufacturer, or independent watchmaker
- **Service Location**: Where the service was performed
- **Technician/Watchmaker Name**: Who performed the work

**Service Details:**
- **Type of Service**: Full service, partial service, repair, maintenance, regulation, water resistance test, or other
- **Work Performed**: Specific tasks completed (movement disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, parts replacement, etc.)
- **Parts Replaced**: Any components that were changed out
- **Pressure/Water Resistance Testing Results**: Verification that seals are intact

**Cost and Documentation:**
- **Service Cost**: Total amount paid
- **Invoice/Receipt Number**: For record keeping
- **Warranty Information**: Any warranty provided on the service work
- **Service Documentation**: Notes about PDFs or photos of service papers

**Technical Information:**
- **Movement Condition**: Assessment of the movement's state
- **Accuracy/Timing Results**: Performance measurements before and after service
- **Issues Found**: Problems discovered during service
- **Recommendations**: Future maintenance needs or concerns noted by the watchmaker

### Service Due Tracking

**Visual Indicators:**
- **Red Badge**: Service is overdue (past due date)
- **Orange Badge**: Service due within 30 days
- **Green/Normal**: Service not due yet

**Where You'll See Service Status:**
- **Watch Cards**: Most recent service date appears below purchase date
- **Watch Detail View**: Complete service history with due date indicators
- **Service Records**: Individual record details with status

### Managing Service Records

**Editing Service Records:**
1. Open watch details
2. Tap on any service record in the history
3. Modify information as needed
4. Tap **Save**

**Deleting Service Records:**
1. Open the service record for editing
2. Scroll to bottom and tap **Delete Service Record**
3. Confirm deletion

*Note: Service records are preserved in backups and can be restored along with all other watch data.*

## Tracking Watch Wear

### Logging Daily Wear

1. Go to the **Wear** tab
2. Tap on any date in the calendar
3. Select the watch you wore that day
4. The selection is automatically saved

### Viewing Wear History

- **Calendar view**: Dates with logged wear appear highlighted
- **Watch cards**: Each watch shows a wear count badge
- **Analytics**: Detailed wear statistics in the Analyze tab

### Editing Wear Entries

To modify or remove a wear entry:
1. Tap the date on the calendar
2. Select a different watch or choose "No watch worn"
3. Changes are saved automatically

## Managing Your Wishlist

### Adding to Wishlist

1. Tap the **Wish** tab
2. Tap the **+** button
3. Fill in watch details (similar to collection)
4. Set a **Wishlist Rank** (priority number)
5. Add **Estimated Cost** for budget tracking
6. Tap **Save**

### Reordering Priorities

**Desktop/Tablet:**
1. Long press on any wishlist item
2. Enter edit mode (drag handles appear)
3. Drag items up or down to reorder
4. Tap **Done** to exit edit mode

**Priority numbers automatically update** (1, 2, 3, etc.) based on the order.

### Sharing Your Wishlist

1. Tap the **envelope icon** next to the search bar
2. Select which watches to include
3. Choose **Send Email** or **Send SMS**
4. The app will format your wishlist professionally

**Shared information includes:**
- Watch make and model
- Nickname (if set)
- Reference number
- Target price
- Product URL
- Description

### Moving from Wishlist to Collection

When you acquire a wishlist item:
1. Open the watch details from your wishlist
2. Tap **Edit**
3. Tap **Move to My Collection**
4. Update acquisition details (purchase/gift information)
5. The watch moves to your collection automatically

- **Camera unavailable**: Normal on simulator - use "Choose from Library" instead
- **Add Photos button not working**: This has been fixed in v1.0.1 - buttons now work reliably in all editing modes
- **Photos not updating on cards**: Fixed in v1.0.1 - watch cards now immediately reflect photo changes

**Camera Troubleshooting:**
- **Permission denied**: Go to iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > WatchCurator and enable
- **Camera crashes**: Restart the app and try again
- **Blurry photos**: Ensure good lighting and hold device steady
- **Can't edit photos**: Make sure you're using "Take Photo" option for editing capabilities
- **Wishlist photo buttons not responding**: Fixed in v1.0.1 - all photo management now works consistently across collection and wishlist modes

**Data Problems:**
- **Missing watches**: Check if accidentally moved to wishlist
- **Incorrect wear counts**: Verify calendar entries
- **Backup failures**: Ensure sufficient storage space
